Product Description
The ATEN VS5821 is a compact 2-port 8K HDMI switch designed for gaming systems, premium home entertainment, professional studios, meeting rooms and commercial audiovisual installations.
It allows two compatible HDMI source devices to connect to one HDMI display. Compatible sources can include laptops, desktop computers, game consoles, media players, TV boxes and Blu-ray or DVD players.
The VS5821 supports resolutions up to 7680 × 4320 at 60Hz with 4:2:0 chroma and 3840 × 2160 at 120Hz, with a maximum HDMI bandwidth of 48Gbps.
ATEN RapidSync technology provides fast synchronisation when switching between the connected HDMI sources. The required source is selected manually using the pushbutton on the top of the unit.
Support for HDR10+, Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode allows compatible gaming and entertainment equipment to deliver detailed visuals with responsive performance. The switch also supports HDMI 3D formats, Deep Color and HDCP 2.3.
Compatible multichannel audio formats include LPCM 7.1, Dolby Digital and DTS-HD Master Audio.
The VS5821 is an HDMI switch and not an HDMI splitter. It connects two HDMI sources to one display and does not distribute one HDMI source across multiple displays.

The connected HDMI source devices, display and HDMI cables must support the required resolution, refresh rate, HDR format, HDMI features and HDCP version.
For 8K output at 60Hz, 8K output at 30Hz or 4K output at 120Hz, compatible HDMI source equipment, a compatible display and suitable 28AWG HDMI cables of up to 1.5 metres are required on both the input and output sides.
For 4K output at 60Hz, HDMI cable lengths of up to 3 metres are supported on the input and output sides when used with compatible equipment.
Actual performance depends on the connected HDMI source devices, display, HDMI cables, resolution, refresh rate and HDMI features supported by each device.
Sources must be selected manually using the pushbutton on the unit. Automatic source switching is not supported.
The VS5821 connects two HDMI sources to one display. It does not distribute one HDMI source across multiple displays.
ARC and eARC are not supported.
A compatible 5V/1A USB power adapter is required and is not included.
