The Synology E25G30-F2 is a dual-port 25GbE SFP28 network adapter with PCIe 3.0 x8 connectivity, Link Aggregation and support for optical transceivers and direct attach copper cables.

Product Description

The Synology E25G30-F2 adds high-speed 25GbE or 10GbE connectivity to compatible Synology systems.

Its two SFP28 ports support compatible short-range and long-range optical transceivers and direct attach copper cables.

Both ports can be combined using Link Aggregation to provide up to 50Gbps of total bandwidth, load balancing and port failover.

Network-offloading technologies help reduce processing overhead during demanding file transfers, backup, virtualisation and multi-user workloads.

SFP28 transceivers, direct attach cables and network equipment are not included.

Compatibility Note

Confirm that the intended Synology system, DSM version, SFP28 transceivers and cables are compatible with the E25G30-F2 before ordering.

Compatible systems include selected Synology PAS, FlashStation, HD, SA, UC, DP, RackStation and DiskStation models with a suitable PCIe expansion slot.

Selected compatible models include:

  • RS2825RP+ and DS1825+
  • RS2423RP+II, RS2423RP+, RS2423+ and DS1823xs+
  • RS822RP+, RS822+, DS3622xs+ and DS2422+
  • RS4021xs+, RS3621xs+, RS3621RPxs and RS1221-series models
  • Selected FS, SA, HD, UC and DP-series systems

DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 5 or later is required. Systems using selected AMD Ryzen V1000 processors require DSM 7.2.1-69057 or later.

Both network ports must use the same link speed. Mixed 25GbE and 10GbE operation across the two ports is not supported.

The E25G30-F2 uses SFP28 connectors and does not provide built-in RJ-45 Ethernet ports.

The complete network path, including the switch, transceivers, cables, client adapter and storage system, must support the selected speed.

Link Aggregation increases combined bandwidth across compatible connections but does not increase the maximum speed of one individual transfer.
