The Synology RackStation RS1221RP+ is an 8-bay 2U rackmount NAS with an AMD Ryzen processor, expandable ECC memory, redundant power supplies, four 1GbE ports and support for up to 12 drives.

Product Description

The Synology RS1221RP+ is designed for centralised business storage, backup, collaboration, private-cloud access, virtualisation and surveillance.

It features an AMD Ryzen V1500B quad-core processor, 4GB DDR4 ECC memory expandable to 32GB and eight hot-swappable SATA drive bays.

Four built-in 1GbE ports support Link Aggregation and network failover. A PCIe Gen3 expansion slot supports selected Synology 10GbE and 25GbE network cards, M.2 SSD adapter cards and combined network and storage adapters.

The RS1221RP+ delivers sequential performance of up to 2,315MB/s read and 1,147MB/s write under Synology test conditions. Storage capacity can be expanded to 12 drives with an optional RX418 Expansion Unit.

Redundant power supplies help maintain operation if one power source or power supply fails.

Storage drives, memory upgrades, expansion units, PCIe cards and rack rail kits are not included.

Compatibility Note

Confirm that all storage drives, memory modules, expansion units, PCIe cards and rack accessories are compatible with the Synology RS1221RP+ before ordering.

The RS1221RP+ supports one optional RX418 Expansion Unit, increasing the total number of supported drive bays from eight to twelve.

When two memory modules are installed, both modules must be identical and use the same model number.

The PCIe slot supports selected Synology 10GbE and 25GbE network cards, M.2 SSD adapter cards and combined network and M.2 adapters.

Installation in a compatible 4-post rack requires an optional Synology RKS-02 sliding rail kit.

Available capacity will be reduced by RAID, formatting, system partitions and file-system data. RAID does not replace an independent backup.
