The Synology M2D20 is a dual-slot M.2 NVMe SSD adapter designed to accelerate compatible Synology NAS systems without consuming their main storage bays.

Its PCIe 3.0 interface and support for two M.2 2280 or 22110 NVMe SSDs make it well suited to latency-sensitive workloads such as virtualisation, file search and indexing.

The Synology M2D20 is a PCIe 3.0 x8 adapter card designed to add two dedicated M.2 NVMe SSD slots to compatible Synology NAS systems.

It supports M.2 2280 and 22110 NVMe SSDs through two M-key connectors.

Using dedicated M.2 cache allows the primary NAS drive bays to remain available for higher-capacity HDDs or SATA SSDs.

The M2D20 is designed for workloads that benefit from lower random I/O latency, including virtualisation, indexing and frequently accessed shared data.
