The EcoFlow 220W Lightweight Portable Bifacial Solar Panel combines N-Type TOPCon solar cells, up to 25% conversion efficiency, an integrated XT60 cable and an adjustable folding stand for portable solar charging while camping, travelling or operating away from mains electricity.

Product Description

The EcoFlow 220W Lightweight Portable Bifacial Solar Panel is a foldable solar charging solution designed for compatible EcoFlow portable power stations and supported third-party solar-input devices.

Its bifacial construction combines a front-facing solar surface for capturing direct sunlight with a rear-facing surface that can capture reflected ambient light from the surrounding environment.

The panel delivers a rated output of 220W under Standard Test Conditions. Under EcoFlow’s specified BNPI bifacial test conditions, output can reach up to 243W.

N-Type TOPCon monocrystalline solar cells provide conversion efficiency of up to 25%, helping convert available sunlight into charging power efficiently under suitable outdoor conditions.

An integrated 2.5m solar charging cable with an XT60 connector allows the panel to connect directly to compatible EcoFlow portable power stations without requiring a separate standard solar charging cable.

The built-in folding support stand adjusts between 30° and 60°, allowing the panel angle to be changed according to the sun’s position and the surrounding environment.

An integrated solar angle guide assists with positioning the panel so that sunlight reaches the front surface at a more effective angle.

The panel weighs approximately 5.1kg, making it around 46% lighter than the previous EcoFlow 220W Bifacial Portable Solar Panel.

Its foldable construction and integrated carrying handle make it suitable for camping, caravan and RV travel, road trips, outdoor work, emergency backup charging and temporary off-grid power systems.

The IP68 water and dust resistance rating supports use in demanding outdoor environments under specified test conditions.

Actual solar output depends on sunlight intensity, panel angle, reflected rear-side light, cloud cover, temperature, shading, panel cleanliness, cable losses and the connected power station’s solar-input limits.

Compatibility

The EcoFlow 220W Lightweight Portable Bifacial Solar Panel is designed for compatible EcoFlow portable power stations and supported third-party solar charging equipment.

Potentially compatible EcoFlow product families include selected:

  • EcoFlow RIVER Series portable power stations
  • EcoFlow DELTA Series portable power stations
  • EcoFlow products with compatible XT60 or XT60i solar inputs

The connected portable power station or solar charge controller must support:

  • An open-circuit voltage of approximately 21.4V
  • A maximum-power voltage of approximately 18.8V
  • Current of up to 13.5A under specified bifacial conditions
  • Solar input from a panel rated between approximately 220W and 243W
  • An XT60-compatible solar input or suitable approved adapter

A matching connector does not automatically confirm electrical compatibility.

Before connecting the panel, confirm the portable power station or solar charge controller’s:

  • Solar-input voltage range
  • Maximum open-circuit voltage
  • Maximum solar-input current
  • Maximum solar-input wattage
  • Connector type
  • Connector polarity
  • Supported solar-panel configuration

Do not connect the panel if its voltage, current or maximum output exceeds the supported limits of the connected equipment.

The integrated XT60 cable supports direct connection to compatible EcoFlow portable power stations. A suitable adapter may be required for equipment using a different solar-input connector.

Bifacial Performance

The front solar surface captures direct sunlight, while the rear surface can collect reflected ambient light.

The panel’s standard rating is 220W ±5W under Standard Test Conditions.

The maximum 243W ±5W output applies under EcoFlow’s specified BNPI bifacial test conditions and is not a guaranteed continuous real-world output.

Rear-side energy generation depends on:

  • Ground and surface reflectivity
  • Panel height and elevation
  • Panel angle
  • Strength of direct sunlight
  • Rear-side shading
  • Cloud cover
  • Weather conditions
  • Installation environment

Light-coloured or reflective surfaces may provide greater rear-side energy capture than dark or non-reflective surfaces.

Keep the rear solar surface unobstructed to allow reflected light to reach it.

Multiple-Panel Connections

Before connecting more than one solar panel, confirm that the combined voltage, current and wattage remain within the connected power station’s solar-input limits.

Only combine panels and connection accessories that are electrically compatible.

Series connections increase the combined voltage, while parallel connections increase the combined current.

Before creating a multi-panel setup, confirm:

  • Maximum solar-input voltage of the power station
  • Maximum solar-input current
  • Maximum solar-input wattage
  • Electrical ratings of every connected panel
  • Required connection cables
  • Connector compatibility
  • Cable current and voltage ratings
  • Accessory availability

Combining panels with different wattages, voltages or current ratings may reduce performance or create an unsafe electrical configuration.

Do not use unverified third-party cables or adapters that do not meet the electrical requirements of the panel and connected power station.

Solar Performance

Actual solar output will normally be lower than the maximum laboratory-rated output and varies according to:

  • Sunlight intensity
  • Panel direction and tilt angle
  • Reflected light reaching the rear surface
  • Cloud cover
  • Weather conditions
  • Time of day
  • Season
  • Ambient temperature
  • Panel temperature
  • Partial shading
  • Dirt or dust on the panel
  • Cable and conversion losses
  • Connected-device input limits
  • Connected battery level

For improved performance, position the panel in direct sunlight and use the integrated angle guide to keep sunlight as close as possible to a 90° angle to the front surface.

Avoid shading from trees, buildings, vehicles, aerials, roof racks and other equipment.

Even limited shading across part of the solar surface can significantly reduce the available charging output.

Installation and Use

This panel is designed primarily for temporary portable deployment.

For prolonged hanging, permanent outdoor installation or vehicle-mounted applications, EcoFlow recommends using an appropriate rigid solar-panel system.

Lightweight portable solar panels are not intended for permanent suspended installation or long-term mounting to moving vehicles.

When deploying the panel:

  • Place it on a stable surface
  • Unfold each section carefully
  • Extend the integrated support stand
  • Select an angle between 30° and 60°
  • Use the solar angle guide to improve positioning
  • Keep the front and rear solar surfaces unobstructed
  • Route the integrated cable away from walkways
  • Connect the XT60 cable securely
  • Confirm that the power station detects solar input
  • Monitor the panel and cable during charging

Do not:

  • Crush or pierce the panel
  • Step or sit on the panel
  • Place heavy objects on the solar cells
  • Fold it against its designed hinges
  • Sharply bend the solar sections
  • Permanently suspend the panel
  • Permanently mount it to a moving vehicle
  • Use damaged hinges, cables or connectors

IP68 Protection

The IP68 rating provides protection against water and dust under specified laboratory test conditions.

The panel should still be handled as electrical equipment:

  • Keep connectors clean and dry before connection
  • Do not connect wet or contaminated plugs
  • Protect disconnected connectors from dirt and moisture
  • Avoid unnecessary prolonged exposure to wet conditions
  • Allow the panel and cable to dry before storage
  • Do not use damaged cables or connectors
  • Do not store the panel while wet
  • Inspect the panel regularly for damage
