The RCT-A3U-U3 3.5″ USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure is designed for users who need to convert a compatible internal 3.5″ SATA hard drive into an externally accessible desktop storage device.

The enclosure supports compatible 3.5″ SATA hard drives with capacities of up to 12TB. It is suitable for desktop backups, document archives, media libraries, file transfers and repurposing compatible internal hard drives.

USB 3.0 connectivity supports data-transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps when the enclosure is used with compatible USB 3.0 computers, ports, cables and storage devices.

Because 3.5″ desktop hard drives require more power than smaller portable drives, the enclosure uses an external power adapter for stable operation. It supports 5V DC and 12V DC operating power, with a 12V power adapter included in the package.

The RCT-A3U-U3 supports compatible Windows, Linux and macOS computers, making it suitable for home, office and workstation storage environments.

Please check that your drive is a compatible 3.5″ SATA HDD and that its capacity does not exceed 12TB before ordering.

The enclosure is designed for compatible 3.5″ SATA hard disk drives. It is not specified for 2.5″ drives, M.2 drives, NVMe drives, SAS drives or other storage formats.

The installed hard drive must have a capacity of 12TB or less.

The enclosure must be connected to the included external power adapter for proper operation.

Actual data-transfer speed depends on the installed hard drive, computer, USB port, operating system, file sizes and connected USB equipment.

A hard drive may need to be initialised, partitioned or formatted before it can be used. Formatting can erase existing data, so important files should be backed up before making storage changes.

The hard drive is not included.
