Product Description

The Synology DiskStation DS1825+ is a versatile 8-bay network attached storage system designed for centralised file storage, business backup, collaboration, virtualisation and surveillance.

It is powered by an AMD Ryzen V1500B processor with four cores, eight processing threads and a 2.2GHz operating frequency.

The system includes 8GB of DDR4 ECC SODIMM memory and supports expansion to a maximum of 32GB using compatible Synology memory modules.

Eight hot-swappable drive bays support compatible 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drives.

Two built-in M.2 2280 NVMe slots can be used for compatible SSD caching or supported M.2 storage pools without occupying the front drive bays.

Storage capacity can be expanded from eight to eighteen SATA drives by connecting up to two optional Synology DX525 Expansion Units.

Dual built-in 2.5GbE network ports support Link Aggregation, network failover and load balancing with compatible network equipment.

A PCIe Gen3 expansion slot supports selected Synology 10GbE and 25GbE network interface cards for higher-bandwidth environments.

Synology lists sequential performance of up to 2,239MB/s read and 1,573MB/s write in supported test configurations.

Synology DiskStation Manager provides tools for file sharing, backup, private-cloud storage, collaboration, virtualisation, photo management and surveillance.

Surveillance Station includes two default device licences and supports up to 40 compatible IP cameras, depending on the recording configuration and other active workloads.

The DS1825+ is supplied without storage drives, M.2 SSDs, expansion units, memory upgrades or optional network cards.

Please confirm that all storage drives, M.2 SSDs, memory modules, expansion units and network cards are officially compatible with the Synology DS1825+ before ordering.

The DS1825+ supports:

The front SATA drive bays support hot-swapping when permitted by the current RAID and storage-pool condition. The M.2 SSD slots do not support hot-swapping.

M.2 storage pools require compatible Synology-verified NVMe SSDs.

When both memory slots are populated, both modules must be identical and use the same model number.

A maximum single volume size above 108TB requires 32GB of installed memory and a supported storage configuration.

The USB Type-C expansion ports are intended for compatible DX525 Expansion Units and should not be treated as general-purpose USB-C ports.

The available storage capacity will be lower than the total manufacturer-rated drive capacity because of RAID, formatting, system partitions and file-system data.

Actual performance depends on the installed drives, RAID configuration, network equipment, memory, client hardware and active applications.

RAID helps protect against selected drive failures but does not replace an independent backup.
