Product Description

The Synology DiskStation DS3622xs+ is a powerful and scalable 12-bay network attached storage system designed for demanding business storage, backup, virtualisation, surveillance and professional media workflows.

It is powered by an Intel Xeon D-1531 six-core processor with a 2.2GHz base frequency and turbo speeds of up to 2.7GHz.

The system includes 16GB of DDR4 ECC SODIMM memory, installed as two 8GB modules, and supports expansion to a maximum of 48GB using compatible Synology memory modules.

Twelve hot-swappable drive bays support compatible 3.5-inch SATA hard drives, 2.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drives.

Storage capacity can be expanded from twelve to thirty-six drives by connecting up to two optional Synology DX1222 Expansion Units.

The DS3622xs+ includes two built-in 10GbE RJ-45 ports, two Gigabit Ethernet ports and a dedicated out-of-band management port.

Dual 10GbE connectivity provides high-speed network access without requiring an additional network card. The separate management port supports selected remote monitoring and troubleshooting functions.

A PCIe Gen3 x8 expansion slot supports selected Synology 10GbE and 25GbE network cards, Fibre Channel adapters and M.2 NVMe SSD adapter cards.

The DS3622xs+ does not include built-in M.2 slots. NVMe SSD caching requires a compatible M2D20 or E10M20-T1 adapter card and supported M.2 NVMe SSDs.

Synology lists performance of more than 4,600MB/s sequential read, 2,500MB/s sequential write and 320,000 4K random read IOPS in supported test configurations.

The system supports RAID F1, Basic, JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6 and RAID 10. Synology Hybrid RAID is not listed as supported.

Synology DiskStation Manager provides tools for file sharing, backup, snapshots, collaboration, virtualisation, iSCSI, Fibre Channel and surveillance management.

Surveillance Station includes two default device licences and supports up to 90 compatible IP cameras, depending on the recording configuration and other active workloads.

The DS3622xs+ is supplied without storage drives, memory upgrades, expansion units, M.2 SSDs or optional PCIe cards.

Compatibility Note

Please confirm that all storage drives, memory modules, expansion units and PCIe cards are officially compatible with the Synology DS3622xs+ before ordering.

The DS3622xs+ supports:

The DS3622xs+ has one PCIe expansion slot, so only one compatible PCIe card can be installed at a time.

M.2 NVMe SSDs installed through a compatible adapter are intended for supported SSD-cache configurations. M.2 storage pools are not listed as supported.

The maximum 48GB memory configuration uses two 8GB modules and two 16GB modules. Follow Synology’s official memory-population instructions.

The front drive bays support hot-swapping when permitted by the current RAID and storage-pool condition.

A maximum single volume size above 108TB requires at least 32GB of installed memory and a supported storage configuration.

The available storage capacity will be lower than the total manufacturer-rated drive capacity because of RAID, formatting, system partitions and file-system data.

Actual performance depends on the installed drives, RAID configuration, network equipment, memory, PCIe hardware, client devices and active applications.

RAID helps protect against selected drive failures but does not replace an independent backup.
