The ASUS TUF Gaming A14 FA401UM is a compact 14-inch gaming notebook powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 260 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory. It features a 2.5K 165Hz G-SYNC display, 16GB LPDDR5X memory, a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, Wi-Fi 6E and Windows 11 Home.

Product Description

The ASUS TUF Gaming A14 FA401UM combines strong gaming performance with a lightweight 14-inch form factor suited to gaming, study, productivity and content creation.

Its AMD Ryzen 7 260 processor features eight cores, 16 threads, 24MB cache, a 3.8GHz base frequency and boost performance of up to 5.1GHz. The processor also includes an AMD XDNA neural processing unit delivering up to 16 TOPS for compatible AI workloads.

Dedicated graphics are provided by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory. ASUS specifies operation at up to 105W, including 90W GPU power plus 15W Dynamic Boost, with a listed operating clock of up to 1737MHz.

The 14-inch IPS-level display provides a 2560 × 1600 WQXGA resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio. It features an anti-glare surface, 100% sRGB colour coverage, a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and NVIDIA G-SYNC support. A MUX Switch and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus support flexible graphics switching according to performance requirements.

The notebook includes 16GB LPDDR5X-7500 onboard memory configured as two 8GB modules in dual-channel mode. The memory is onboard and the maximum supported capacity for this configuration is 16GB.

A 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD provides storage. Two M.2 PCIe slots are available, including the slot occupied by the supplied SSD, and ASUS specifies that only compatible single-sided M.2 SSDs are supported.

Connectivity includes USB4 Type-C with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DisplayPort and G-SYNC support, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1 FRL, a UHS-II microSD card reader and a 3.5mm combination audio jack.

Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 provide wireless connectivity. The 1080p Full HD infrared camera supports Windows Hello facial recognition, while the backlit Chiclet keyboard features single-colour lighting and a dedicated Copilot key.

Audio features include Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res headphone certification, AI noise-cancelling technology, a built-in array microphone and a two-speaker system.

A 73Wh four-cell battery and 200W AC adapter support portable gaming and productivity. The notebook weighs 1.46kg and measures 311 × 227 × 16.9–19.9mm.

Gaming and Performance Features

The MUX Switch supports direct use of the dedicated NVIDIA GPU when required, while NVIDIA Advanced Optimus automatically manages graphics switching according to workload.

NVIDIA G-SYNC helps synchronise compatible graphics output with the display refresh rate to reduce visible tearing and stuttering.

Upgradeability

The 16GB LPDDR5X memory is onboard and is not user-upgradeable.

The notebook includes two M.2 PCIe storage slots, including the slot occupied by the supplied 512GB SSD.

Compatible additional or replacement M.2 storage must use a single-sided SSD design.
