The Synology RackStation RS822+ is a compact 4-bay 1U rackmount NAS designed for business file storage, backup, data protection, collaboration and surveillance. It features an AMD Ryzen V1500B processor, 2GB DDR4 ECC memory, four Gigabit Ethernet ports, PCIe expansion and support for up to eight drive bays with an optional RX418 Expansion Unit.

Product Description

The Synology RackStation RS822+ is a compact 4-bay 1U rackmount NAS designed for branch offices, small and medium-sized businesses and professional IT environments.

Powered by an AMD Ryzen V1500B processor with four cores, eight threads and a 2.2GHz frequency, the RS822+ provides dependable performance for centralised file storage, backup, data synchronisation, collaboration and surveillance workloads.

The system includes 2GB DDR4 ECC SODIMM memory, expandable to 32GB. ECC memory helps detect and correct certain types of memory errors, supporting data integrity during business-critical operations.

Four hot-swappable drive bays support compatible 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drives. Storage capacity can be expanded to eight drive bays by connecting one Synology RX418 Expansion Unit, sold separately.

The RS822+ includes four Gigabit Ethernet ports that support Link Aggregation, network failover and load balancing. A PCIe 3.0 expansion slot supports compatible 10GbE, 25GbE, M.2 NVMe and combined network and SSD adapter cards.

Powered by Synology DiskStation Manager, the RS822+ provides integrated tools for file management, data protection, snapshots, collaboration, private cloud storage, virtualisation and video surveillance.

In Synology’s tested configuration, the RS822+ delivered sequential performance of more than 2,100MB/s read and 1,000MB/s write. Actual performance depends on the installed drives, network hardware, RAID configuration, memory and workload.

Please note: This is a diskless NAS. Hard drives, solid-state drives, rail kit, expansion unit and optional PCIe cards are sold separately.

Compatibility Note

Please check that your selected hard drives, solid-state drives, memory modules, expansion units, rail kits and PCIe cards are listed as compatible with the Synology RS822+ before ordering.

The RS822+ supports compatible 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drives. Storage drives are not included.

Memory upgrades must use compatible Synology DDR4 ECC SODIMM modules. When two memory modules are installed, both modules must be identical and use the same model number.

The RS822+ can be expanded to eight drive bays using one Synology RX418 Expansion Unit.

The PCIe expansion slot supports selected Synology network and M.2 adapter cards. Compatibility depends on the exact adapter, DSM version and installed hardware.

The RS822+ includes four 1GbE ports. Optional 10GbE or 25GbE connectivity requires a compatible PCIe network card and suitable network infrastructure.

The RS822+ has a single 150W power supply. It does not include the redundant power-supply configuration found on the RS822RP+.

The Synology RKS-02 and RKM114 rail kits are sold separately.
