The sliding design allows administrators to pull the NAS forward from the rack for easier installation, inspection and maintenance.

Synology specifies a supported rack mounting depth of 553mm to 834mm.

The rack must provide a mount-post width of at least 450mm and a panel width of at least 480mm.

Square rack-mounting holes must measure at least 9.5 × 9.5mm, while round mounting holes must have a diameter of at least 7.1mm.
