This product is an M.2 SSD adapter card and must be installed into a compatible Synology NAS system with supported PCIe expansion.

Synology notes that the M2D18 requires DSM 6.2-23739-2 or later, or DSM 6.1-15284-2 or later with DSM 6.1.

For RS1221RP+, RS1221+, RS822RP+, and RS822+, Synology lists DSM 7.2-64551 or later as the operating system requirement. These models support M.2 NVMe SSDs with the M2D18 add-in card.

This product is an adapter card only. M.2 SSDs are not included unless specifically stated by the seller.
