The Synology RackStation RS2423+ is a 12-bay 2U rackmount NAS designed for centralised business storage, file sharing, backup, virtualisation and surveillance. It features an AMD Ryzen V1780B processor, 8GB DDR4 ECC memory, built-in 10GbE networking and expansion support for up to 24 drive bays.

Product Description

The Synology RackStation RS2423+ is a powerful 12-bay 2U rackmount storage server designed for small and medium-sized businesses, branch offices and professional IT environments.

Powered by an AMD Ryzen V1780B processor with 4 cores, 8 threads and speeds up to 3.6GHz, the RS2423+ provides responsive performance for centralised file storage, backup, data protection, virtualisation and surveillance workloads.

The system includes 8GB DDR4 ECC UDIMM memory, expandable to 32GB. ECC memory helps detect and correct certain types of memory errors, supporting data integrity in demanding business environments.

Twelve hot-swappable drive bays support compatible 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drives. Storage capacity can be expanded to 24 drive bays using one Synology RX1223RP Expansion Unit, sold separately.

Built-in networking includes one 10GbE RJ-45 port and two 1GbE RJ-45 ports. The Gigabit Ethernet ports support Link Aggregation for network failover and load balancing. A PCIe 3.0 expansion slot allows compatible network or M.2 adapter cards to be added when additional connectivity or SSD caching is required.

The RS2423+ runs Synology DiskStation Manager, providing tools for file management, backup, snapshots, virtualisation, collaboration, surveillance and private cloud storage.

In Synology’s tested configurations, the RS2423+ can deliver sequential performance of more than 3,500MB/s read and 1,700MB/s write. Actual performance depends on the installed drives, RAID configuration, network equipment and workload.

Please note: This is a diskless NAS. Hard drives, solid-state drives, rail kit and expansion unit are sold separately.

Compatibility Note

Please check that your selected hard drives, solid-state drives, memory modules, expansion units and PCIe cards are listed as compatible with the Synology RS2423+ before ordering.

The RS2423+ supports compatible 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drives. Drives are not included.

Synology states that full functionality, reliability and performance are guaranteed only when supported drives listed on the Synology compatibility list are used.

Memory upgrades must use compatible Synology DDR4 ECC UDIMM modules. When two modules are installed, both modules must be identical and have the same model number.

The RS2423+ uses a single 500W power supply. It does not include the redundant power supplies fitted to the RS2423RP+II model.

The 10GbE connection requires compatible 10GbE networking equipment and suitable Ethernet cabling.

The RX1223RP Expansion Unit, RKS-02 Rail Kit, storage drives, network cards and SSD cache hardware are sold separately.
